About Kelly
Hello Everyone!
My name is Kelly and I have a passion for all things relating to food, fitness, and nutrition!
My philosophies on food and fitness are…
Fueling my body with fresh whole foods like veggies, fruits, grains, and beans
And, challenging my body with a variety of workouts like yoga, spin, running, pilates, and zumba
But, like anyone else, I crave yummy treats like cookies and tortilla chips
I never deprive myself of these foods, but instead just practice portion control and have a bite or two
I have not always had the best relationship with food and often times viewed it as my enemy, eventually developing some disordered eating. Through hard work and time I learned to develop a healthy relationship with food. I now view food as a tool that fuels my body and allows me to achieve overall health and become the best person I can be!
I enjoy eating a mostly vegetarian diet, but will occasionally have fish
I am also lactose intolerant, so I have to avoid most dairy products
I am a food blogger enthusiast, who loves to read other healthy living blogs!
I have an amazing husband of 2 years now, Jake, and the goofiest boston terrier around town, Pete!
I enjoy spending my time…
Hanging with family and friends, taking Pete to the dog park with the hubby, cooking yummy vegan meals that my meat loving husband will enjoy, traveling, laying on the beach while listening to the waves, horseback riding, taking cooking classes, organizing, and just lounging at home with my two favorite boys.
We recently picked up everything and moved across the country from California to New York City, and look forward to the new adventures NYC has to offer!
I am hoping to pursue a second degree in nursing (awaiting application decisions as we speak, yikes!), with the ultimate goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. I originally received my degree in Business Marketing from SDSU, but soon after graduating realized that I was not following my passion and wanted a career that would fulfill my love for helping others achieve overall health!
I hope to fill this blog with amazing vegan/vegetarian recipes, fitness tips, and interesting nutritional information!
And, of course, my daily adventures in NYC!
I look forward to this next chapter of my life and hope you enjoy reading about my passions and philosophies involving all things related to food, fitness, and nutrition!
Thanks! xoxo
