Nutrition
Welcome!
In this section of my blog I plan to post interesting nutritional info, facts, history, and tips of some of our favorite foods!
I will keep it short and light, with just the very important facts and tips.
Being that I am in Maui this week, I figured what better food to start with than PINEAPPLE.

Not only are pineapples a delicious tropical fruit, but they are filled with tons of vitamins and minerals.
Some of these include the following:
Bromelain
Vitamin C
Vitamin A
Beta-carotene
Folates
Thiamin
Pyridoxine
Copper
Manganese
Potassium
The two major components of pineapple that make them SUPER healthy for you are Bromelain and Vitamin C.
Bromelain aids in the digestion of food by breaking down the proteins in our body. It is also known to be a great anti-inflammatory that reduces inflammation throughout the body. This anti-inflammatory property helps prevent and aid in conditions such as sore throat, acute sinusitis, gout, and arthritis.
Vitamin C in its natural form is known to be one of our most important water-soluble antioxidant and has been linked to fighting off conditions like asthma, heart problems, rheumatoid arthritis, and cancer. Vitamin C is also an excellent vitamin that can battle the common cold and flu virus.
An additional plus about Pineapple is that it is low in calories, approximately 80 calories a cup, so no need to worry about packing on the extra calories during the day. Its a great light , healthy, and calorie friendly snack.
All in all, Pineapple has some pretty fantastic vitamins and minerals that aid and support our bodies to become healthy and thriving machines
